Nanjing Delegation at the Fremantle Chamber
Last week the Fremantle Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the City of Fremantle hosted morning tea for a business delegation from Nanjing.

Nanjing is the capital of the JiangSu Province in China, located on the Yangtze River near Shanghai.

The delegation of sixteen arrived on the morning of Thursday, 25th October to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Sister City relationship of Nanjing with the City of Perth. The tour was organised by the WA-based HQ of LH Global who arrange customised business and leadership development tours to Australia and New Zealand. The group was particularly interested to visit our Port city and learn more about opportunities and developments underway across Fremantle, including education, business and infrastructure.

Following an introductory destination marketing video about Fremantle, the delegation heard from Chamber of Commerce Board Member Tony Riggio who provided an overview of both the historic and contemporary business and industry in Fremantle. Mayor Brad Pettitt closed the morning with an official welcome from the City of Fremantle and facilitated question time (with a little help from an interpreter!). After being presented with their welcome gifts (goodies bag provided by The Fremantle Markets), the group made their way to Fishing Boat Harbour to enjoy some traditional Fremantle-style fish and chips by the Indian Ocean.

This was the second delegation from mainland China the Chamber has hosted in the last 6 months. These events raise our regions profile to international business leaders and influencers in strategic market sectors.

Those in attendance included James Clark - CEO of LH Global Perth, Mr XU Suan - Chairman & Founder of LH Global, Jun Qian - General Manager of Nanjing Leader Cultural Development Company Ltd and Zhiqiang Wang - Vice President of Yixing Chamber of Commerce.
