Fire on the Streets of Fremantle!

CEO Update

There is so much happening in Fremantle over the next fortnight that even this crazy wild weather won’t be able to keep the masses away.

Over 10 wintery nights, there is a raft of contemporary music, theatre, visual arts, film and live performance created by some of Fremantle’s most prized local acts and a band of international arts swept into the City as part of 10 Nights in Port. A feast of figurative and literal fires will hit our streets –a spectacle that is definitely worth coming down and braving the elements.

Fremantle Business Awards 2019 winner the Fremantle Maritime Museum will also be igniting the fear of the unknown in the hearts of young and old with the launch of their Planet Shark Exhibition on the weekend.

Fremantle Ports and the Esplanade Hotel Fremantle by Rydges welcome 488 AMSA marine scientists into the City to showcase cutting edge research on our oceans and the blue economy.

We also welcome your sparks of insight into a number of Chamber consultation initiatives this week. Let us know:

  • How you think we should best recognise Fremantle’s business leaders moving forward by completing our Fremantle Business Awards 2019 post event survey?

  • How you would like to hear more about and contribute to the decision making around the Water Corporations Pipes for Fremantle project?

Following a number of presentations and meetings we are moving to the next step of advocating for strong project management of this project – in particular in terms of managing contractor lay down areas, parking and visual amenity through the City during construction works. The discussions are ongoing so if you would like to register to share your thoughts please email us

  • Register for our next ‘Set the Month in Motion’ Monthly Forum to raise your questions around how best to work your landlord or agent, which areas of Fremantle your business should explore and how leasing in Fremantle differs from leasing in other parts of Perth.

Lets keep the conversation going over some red wines and fire in this stormy weather.
