Wow what a time to celebrate doing great business in Fremantle – as we close the night out on our Fremantle Business Awards 2019 and reflect on the new faces of business in Fremantle.

From our leading attractions in the WA Maritime Museum and Fremantle Prison, sustainable accommodation provider DHA Liv Apartments, to long standing creative industries such as Bauwerk Colour, Centre for Accessibility and Glen Cowan Fine Art Photography, through to our Australian native focused day spas in Endota and Djurra and local hospitality champions Sweetwater Roof Top Bar, Percy Flint, Freo Social and the iconic Sail & Anchor, it doesn’t get more Fremantle than that line up! These winners are complemented by emerging industries such as those profiled at the Raw Kitchen’s Zero Store, and successful engineering stalwarts Civmec and IKAD Engineering.

Other members of the 2019 winners circle include East Fremantle’s Reps Movement, Frankies on Rotto, local High St favourite HUSH speciality coffee and high-end Italian superstar La Sosta.

These leaders are successfully navigating their way through the challenges of the current market and deserve to be recognised for this achievement. Over the coming weeks, we will be profiling the stories behind these businesses on our social media so we can all learn and be inspired by their drive and creativity.

Navigating the challenges of the current market is a key focus for our next “Set the Month in Motion” monthly forum where we will discuss “leasing in a challenging market” with our expert panel on Wednesday 10th July at 8am.

For those who haven’t caught it yet, tune in to our PODCAST CHANNEL to hear WA’s most creative and well know retail activators discuss “Activating Retail Spaces for Return” in an entertaining and insightful discussion.

Our next big challenge is how as a City we are going to managing the impact of the Water Corporations Pipes for Fremantle, which really couldn’t be coming at a worse time. The work has to be done but ensuring it is done with minimal disruption to our business, at appropriate times of year and with incredibly close attention to visual and aesthetic impacts is a core focus of our current advocacy work with all associated stakeholders. Read my article here for more information on how you can get involved.

Congratulations again to all our winners and our finalists in the Fremantle Business Awards 2019. Huge thanks also to our incredible sponsors and those who nominated themselves or others – you make doing great business in Fremantle worthwhile.
