Economic Outlook: Export in a Changing World focused on The Supply Chain.
The Fremantle Chamber of Commerce, together with partners Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Department Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), STAG (Seafood Trade Advisory Group) and our local exporters, are actively working to ensure our local exporters can continue to get their products to international markets, especially through the COVID-19 challenges. In particular, we have had an active voice in the Federal Government’s Flight Assistance Program to overcome the loss of commercial cargo space as airlines cancelled their passenger flights.
We were proud to play host to the 2020 Export Economic Outlook webinar, presented in collaboration with Westpac, Pitcher Partners, Export Finance Australia and NCI on Friday 8 May 2020.
We thank keynote guest speaker Cassandra Winzenried, Chief Economist at Export Finance Australia for her insightful presentation on the topic: Navigating Global Economic Recession. A copy of Cassandra’s presentation is available for DOWNLOAD HERE.
The presentation highlighted the key risks to international trade being supply chain restrictions, tariff and a move towards national protectionism and a reduction in demand following a global recession.
During the Q&A session we heard from some of our leading industry experts at Perth USAsia Centre. Jeffrey Wilson shared an interesting piece The survey on American Attitudes Towards Tariff.
