Henry Ford once said “coming together is the beginning, keeping together is progress and working together is success”.

My goal over the next few months is to find new ways to gather together our business community and Chamber members to continue to create a distinctive and inventive future for Fremantle. There is no better mark than how we come together than the Fremantle Business Awards – with our 2019 Fremantle Business Awards launching in just 24 hours, I can’t wait to share the new theme, focus and categories, and to also get out and about to encourage the best round of nominations yet.

A key activity of the next week is bringing together our planning for a new event program calendar that will include a business learning event each month, and a series of innovative networking events to gather our business leaders together. As local businesses, if you have any ideas on creative spaces where we should gather or learning areas that you would value discussing please don’t hesitate to email our events team.

On an individual level I encourage each of you to come together to learn more about employing those from overseas with a presentation by Chamber member ESS next week, get involved with the Westport community engagement processes to focus on the way the Port will influence our future and to celebrate our great lifestyle with Fish & Sips Festival and the Kylie exhibition over the next fortnight.

I am also really looking gathering with senior leaders in our community over the next week to discuss crime and safety in our community, our fishing export community and the Port.

If you haven’t explored the benefits of Chamber membership as yet I encourage you to do so immediately so we can continue to come together for Fremantle.
