My guiding question is - ‘How do we connect and grow the Fremantle Business Community.’

Meet Chrissie Maus, Chief Executive Officer, Fremantle Chamber of Commerce

Chrissie Maus is the CEO of the Fremantle Chamber of Commerce, the leading voice for business in the port city of Western Australia.

Prior to her role in the most eclectic and spirited seaside destination in the world, Fremantle, she was the General Manager (CEO) of the largest retail and entertainment precinct in Australia – Melbourne’s Chapel Street.

Earning her stripes in TV and radio over 20 years ago, she’s gone on to carve out a reputation as a captivating speaker, accomplished marketer, trusted non-executive director and cheeky industry trailblazer.

As an accomplished executive, she’s mastered the arts of guerilla marketing, strategic planning, project execution, talent management, publicity, risk mitigation and crisis management. This is evidenced by the marketing awards and an invitation into the prestigious Leadership Victoria cohort of 2022.

An innately courageous and inclusive leader, Chrissie makes it her mission to set the benchmark for corporate governance and company culture. She leverages her platforms to advocate for women's rights, equality, sleep and mental health, in addition to embracing diversity as the key to future success.

When she’s not putting Fremantle on a well-earned pedestal, you’ll find her commanding a room, penning her opinion in the Leadership & Lifestyle section of The West Australian (Seven West Media), and – most importantly – being a woman of quantifiable action.

She is a Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute, an alumnae of the prestigious Williamson Community Leadership Program and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Chrissie also sits as a company director for the Stephen Michael Foundation and works closely with the Australian Institute of Management WA as leadership lecturer and fellow.
