Future Of Fremantle Emerging Vision
The Future of Fremantle project has reached a very exciting milestone with the release of an emerging vision and three economic and land use scenarios for public comment.
The project has progressed significantly following extensive community and government engagement, including two major Place Design Forums that were held over several days in August and September, Youth Forums, and important cultural input from Aboriginal Elders. The project team has also been undertaking technical investigations, economic and transport modelling, and global case study research.
This work has helped to inform the vision and scenarios for the Inner Harbour port precinct, each exploring different ideas and levels of ambition – economy, jobs, housing and green spaces – for the potential future redevelopment of the site over the next 50 years.
The Future of Fremantle project is seeking feedback on an emerging vision and three economic and land use scenarios that explore possibilities for the future redevelopment of the Fremantle | Walyalup Inner Harbour port precinct.
They are keen to get your feedback on the emerging vision and the three scenarios which are available for public comment until Monday 15 January 2024.
A comprehensive information pack, detailing the vision and main aspects of each scenario is provided to help inform your feedback through the online survey and is available at Future of Fremantle Consultation Hub.
All views will be considered by the Future of Fremantle Planning Committee to help inform a final recommendation to the State Government in mid-2024.
The consultation process is supported by two Community Open Days.
The Open Days are a great opportunity for anyone with an interest in the Port’s future to drop in and find out more about the scenarios. Members of the project team will be available to answer your questions and hear your ideas and feedback.
