LGBTIQA+ Inclusion in the Workplace

  • Fremantle Chamber Of Commerce 16 Phillimore Street Fremantle, WA, 6160 Australia (map)

In partnership with the City of Fremantle, the Fremantle Chamber of Commerce invites you to explore LGBTQIA+ inclusion in the workplace (with an intersectional lens).

This workshop will explore practical methods to create inclusion in the workplace, including:

  • LGBTQIA+ inclusive language

  • What it means to be an LGBTQIA+ ally

  • Pronouns

  • Unpacking the acronym

  • How workplaces can play a role in creating safe, and respectful environments for LGBTQIA+ folks

“This customised training program is for those who would like to provide a more inclusive service to their employees and clientele,” said Chrissie Maus, Fremantle Chamber of Commerce CEO.

“Facilitated by a local person from the LGBTQIA+ community, participants will learn through the sharing of lived experience, to develop a deeper understanding and gain better insight into sexual orientation, sex, body characteristics, gender and gender expression.

“It is important businesses and organisations are invested in the wellbeing of all clients and consumers and deliver inclusive and culturally appropriate services. It is about providing access, meeting duty of care and effectively addressing LGBTQIA+ needs to provide a positive experience,” Ms. Maus added.
